How to get a Septic Installer License in North Carolina

Installer Certification:

1. Mandatory Introduction Class:

  • All applicants must complete an 18-hour Introduction class.

  • The 18-hour introduction class is offered by Onsite Wastewater Professionals.

2. Additional Class Hours:

  • Grade Level I & II: 6 additional hours

  • Grade Level III: 9 additional hours

  • Grade Level IV: 12 additional hours

3. Exam Requirements:

  • Required for Grade Level III & IV only.

  • Ensure all required documents are submitted to NCOWCICB at least 15 days before the exam date.

  • Complete a simple application. No experience, degree, or previous education required.

  • We will assist you with putting together the application package in the 18-Hour class.
