How to become a Certified Septic Installer in Georgia:

Georgia does not require you to take any classes to become a certified septic installer. Our team offers a 3 day septic installer school in NC that serves as an excellent introduction to Septic Installation. We recommend attending an installer school as a way to get started in the industry. You can register on this page for upcoming classes.

As a contractor you must demonstrate knowledge of all standards and criteria found in the DPH Manual for On-site Sewage Management Systems .
Installers, focus on:
Section A - Rules and Regulations
Section D - Pretreatment
Section E - Effluent Distribution and Dosing Devices
Section F - Dispersal -
Complete the Contractor Application
Complete the Company Application
Bring the application with you to your scheduled exam(s).

Contact your County Environmental Health Office to schedule your exam.
Exams cost $50 per exam.
Additional exams are required for installing Commercial systems, Subsurface Drip Systems, and Mounds.

Installer Company Fee: $400
Do not pay the company fee until you have passed the exam AND you have submitted the company application.
