  • The continuing education required to become a certified septic inspector are provided by Onsite Wastewater Professionals and can be found under the Classes & Events page.

  • This exam is held four times a year and must be applied for 15 days in advance through the North Carolina Onsite Wastewater Contractor Inspector Certification Board (NCOWCICB).

  • Mail your application for certification, certification fee, required course attendance certificates, and exam application to NCOWCICB P.O. Box 132 Lawsonville, NC 27022.

    The certification fee for Inspector is $200.

  • Certifications expire annually on December 31st and require continuing education for renewal, due by November 15th. Inspectors need 6 hours of continuing education.
